Law

In New Zealand you must drive on the left side of the road. On a road with more than one lane in your direction, keep to the left lane unless you are passing, turning right, or the lanes are marked for different directions.

Your licence and your vehicle

Law

You must carry your driver licence whenever you drive and show it to a police officer if asked. The vehicle you drive must have a current registration (vehicle licence) and a current warrant of fitness () or certificate of fitness (CoF).
