Practise smooth stopping
In a quiet street, practise braking gently to stop beside a chosen landmark. Your supervisor watches for a smooth, controlled stop.
Identify road signs
As a passenger or driver, name each sign you see and what it means. Your supervisor checks your answers.
Observe intersections
Before each intersection, say which give-way rule applies and why.
Practise correct signalling
Signal for at least 3 seconds before every turn and lane change; your supervisor counts.
Review mirror checks
Your supervisor asks 'what's behind us?' at random moments – check your mirrors and answer.
Discuss hazards with your supervisor
Take turns describing hazards you notice (commentary driving) on a short familiar route.
